English Grammar | OMITTING WORDS IN SPOKEN ENGLISH
Omission of words – You all ready?
Sometimes in conversational English, when the first part of a sentence is obvious, it is omitted (i.e., not spoken).
For example, if someone asks, “You all ready?” that person means, “Are you all ready?” or “Are you completely ready?”
“All ready?” has the same meaning.
If someone asks, “You okay?” it means, “Are you okay?”
Note: An omission is someone/something that has been left out, or omitted.
