FOR GOOD MEASURE?
for English Language Learners (ELL) who are learning to speak English as a Second Language (ESL), or English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Definition:
in addition to what has already been said/done – to add good to it; sometimes this is with the idea of being insurance
Examples:
1. For our hiking trip we made sure we had lots of safety equipment. For good measure we even took our GPS.
2. It only takes 20 minutes to get there, but I am going to allow 30 minutes for good measure.
3. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, but I always add a little extra for good measure.
