a COUCH POTATO?
Definition:
This is used to describe a person who is lazy and doesn’t do much except lie on the couch (sofa) and watch TV.
Example:
Thanks for the invitation to go white-water kayaking. I really appreciate you including me but I’m going to say, “No”. My job is very tiring, so on the weekends I am a couch potato.
Note: In Canadian culture, when you say “No” to an invitation, it is considered polite to give an explanation for your refusal.
