What is the meaning of the English word… SQUINT?

Definition:

(verb)

to look at s.o. or s.t. with one or both eyes partially closed, usually to see more clearly or as a reaction to strong light

Examples:

1. If you don’t have sunglasses and the sun is bright, you need to squint to see.

2. He squinted into the crowd to see if he could find someone he knew.

3. I think I am going to have to get glasses. Even when I squint, I can’t see that.
