What is the meaning of the English word
(adverb – used for emphasis)
When used before a noun, VERY means exactly this thing, or these things.
1. She looked very surprised when she opened the box. “How did you know?”, she asked. “This is the very thing I was hoping for!”
2. This could be the very day your life starts to change.
3. Do you remember? Twenty years ago, you kissed me for the first time under this very tree.
