A subdivision is a group of acreages that form a neighbourhood.
In the rural area around Edmonton, there are a lot of subdivisions.
Most of this land used to be farming land.
Subdivisions are created when a large piece of land is divided into acreages. For some farmers, subdividing their land and selling the acreage lots has provided extra income.
Subdivisions are not all the same size. Some subdivisions have less than 12 homes; some have more than 50. Each subdivision has a name.
The acreages in a subdivision have a common road that connects them to the main road. This is usually a quiet road that is nice for walking or bike riding.
