What is the meaning of

- the expected, or hoped for, result
1. As it turned out, no one else looked very good the next morning either. (See the STORY The Sleepover example)
2. We thought the bank was open until 9:00 pm, but it turned out that it closed at 8:00. We had to go back the next morning.
