What is the meaning of LOCK UP?

Definition:

completely shut and secure by locking

(often used for a offices, or stores)

Examples:

1. The police locked the prisoner up for the night in his cell.

2. We locked up the doors and windows and left for vacation.

3. It is her job to lock up the store every night.
