Definition:

  • make a place completely clean or tidy

Examples:

  • This place is a mess!  You have to clean it up before you leave.
  • He told his kids if they cleaned up their rooms, he would take them to a movie.
  • Let’s clean up the kitchen before bed so it looks nice when we get up in the morning.

 

present: CLEAN UP
present participle: CLEANING UP
past: CLEANED UP
past participle: CLEANED UP
