What is the Meaning of the Expression
LOSE TRACK OF someone or something?
be unable to keep a record of someone or something, or unable to remember something
This expression can be used to mean that something happened many times (too many times for it to be practical to count).
1. I have lost track of almost all my friends from high school.
(This means I do not know where they are now.)
2. I’m sorry I’m so late! I was cleaning the basement out and I lost track of time.
3. He has lost track of the years of his life that he has wasted doing nothing of value. (This means more than he could easily count.)
